shanstress70 Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Remember that song, 'She's So High'? The guy who sings it is leaving the church. His father is Randy Bachman from Bachman Turner Overdrive (who is still a member).I'm not posting this to be ugly - just thought some of you might be interested. I know most of the women at my ward like him a lot.http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/Art...rtainment/Music Quote

Guest curvette Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 This is real irony. Randy Bachman keeps the faith and Tal leaves. The music industry and LDS values just really don't mix, unfortunately. Maybe the main difference is that Randy was a musician before he embraced the church and Tal was LDS first and embraced the music industry as an adult. I would never judge him for this--the two worlds just aren't very compatible. Quote
shanstress70 Posted July 26, 2004 Author Report Posted July 26, 2004 From what I read (in this article and his posts on another board), it isn't b/c he is a musician and the fame and all that. He just started questioning some doctrines about two years ago. He came to the conclusion that he no longer believes. Quote

I wonder though if his dad stays in the church partly because he prefers the wholesome lifestyle to what he knew before. I like to second guess people even though I know it's naughty. :) Is this other board he posts on the one we both visit occasionally? (or is it the "telestial" one?) Quote
Snow Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 She's so high... I used to like that song. Now, to think... it's from an apostate... still, he was pre-apostate when he made it... yeah, that's okay. Actually I had no idea who he was but I like the song. Randy Bachman rocked. Quote

What is the "telestial board"? I think Curvette's talking about exmormon.org. That's where Tal has posted anyway. Quote

That puts a different spin on it. No longer believing and being part of the exmo.com crowd are 2 different things. Three is you are using the new math. Quote
