Spacemecha Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 My fav scripture - D&C Sec 128 vs 22-23 22 Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praise to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prison; for the prisoners shall go free. 23 Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever! And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear from heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and powers! Kirajo Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Okay my favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 and just a cute little saying (works well with missionaries who have families that are particularly torn about them leaving home for 2 years), " As long as you are close to the Lord, and I am close to the Lord, we're not that far apart." :) Quote

Moksha Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." - Jesus, Mathew 18:20 "The quality of mercy is not strain'd, It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath: it is twice blest; It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.." - Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice, as spoken by Portia "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man". - Shakespeare, Hamlet, as spoken by Polonius Hope this helps... bytor2112 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Nephi II Ch. 31 20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. This verse makes me very happy.....:) Quote
bytor2112 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Matthew Ch. 1128 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew Ch. 514 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. D & C Section 3113 Be faithful unto the end, and lo, I am with you. These words are not of man nor of men, but of me, even Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, by the will of the Father. Amen. Quote
