photog4u Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I am a recent divorcee with a 3 year old son. I certainly didn't expect my marriage to fail after only 5 years but there had been so many things happen where I could no longer trust my husband. We married when I was inactive but became active when my son was born. So now I am a single mom in my branch. I am not bitter against marriage and do look forward to the day where I can marry in the temple to a worthy man. So what is my next step? I am so scared about attending any singles activities ( I assume I would be in YSA because I am 25) because I know no one there. Can anyone tell me about YSA and the activities? Thanks! Quote
BenRaines Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Yes you should attend Young Single Adult unit if there is one near you. Ben Raines Quote
siouxz72 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Welcome, Photog! Sorry I can't tell you anything about YSA activities, but I wish you the best of luck!! I'm quite sure you'll be able to find that love again. And think about how much fun it will be to meet all those new people. Exciting!! Sweet! Go have fun! Quote
photog4u Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 Thanks for the greetings! Ben, can I go to a singles ward if I have a young child? I thought they wouldn't have a nursury or primary. There is a YSA ward in my area but didn't think I could go. Anyone know about this? . Quote
BenRaines Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Yes you can attend with small children. Often members of the Bishopric have small children that attend that same primary. Ben Raines Quote
Guest Alana Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 When I was in the YSA branch, there was someone there with kids. Go for it. Quote
Jbs2763 Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 there was a girl that just had her 2nd graduation from the ysa branch here, her kid went to church with her parents, and she went to the ysa branch, find the branch president for the ysa branch there, or try and find them on facebook if you use that site, it seems that most of the ysa branches have one, or just find them in that search engine by mormon, single, looking etc....odds are you might could figure one out Quote
ldssinglepeople Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Having kids is no problem in YSA wards/branches. Kudos for being a good example to your son!TimLDS Single People Quote
