Islander Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Cool. Note, however, that there are never such gestures coming from the other side Quote
Elgama Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Cool. Note, however, that there are never such gestures coming from the other sidethis is not true many Muslims are eager for friendship especially with Latter Day Saints because of our commitment to the family and because of our chastity, fast offerings and we do not partake of alcohol. I know I have many Muslim friends specifically because I am a Latter Day Saint and we have a lot in common.LDS.org - Ensign Article - Islam and Mormonism—A ComparisonThere have been many but this is my favourite Ensign ArticleI need to join facebook which I have promised to do this week - so will look it up then-Charley Quote

Hemidakota Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Islander, not from those considered fanatics [bid Laden and so forth] but those who are truly devoted to the faith. They are passive people and do not subject themselves to violence or murdering in the name of Allah. If anyone else is interested, read the Koran to receive your own point of view. I have one on my desk. Quote
minutz3 Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 chastityUhm, correct me if I'm wrong, but is Muslim really in favour of chastity? I think I've read somewhere that they encourage one to "release the sexual tension" by for example self-abuse and/or temporary wives.. But I might be wrong of course. Quote
Hemidakota Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Ugh no. Any form of abusement is not in harmony of the Koran. Quote

In general at least the ones I have come across have been incredibly chaste.-Charley Quote

My best friend in high school was Muslim. Her family had moved to the US from Saudi Arabia. We had lots of conversations together. Eventually she took the missionary discussions and became a member of the Church. Her family, except for her father, all became members of the Church. The only sad thing is that her family can not go back to Saudi Arabia. Muslims have a very harsh penality about changing faiths. Quote
Hemidakota Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 That changed in the last few years but still not in traditions of the Koran. When the religion was overcome by claimed clerics, without a living prophet, they are subjected by anyone claiming himself being a divine one. Quote
Cra-Z Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Awesome, this is cool. I'm reading the Qu'ran now. My girlfriend is Muslim. Quote
Cra-Z Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 I should add, she is reading the Book of Mormon. Quote
