Dale Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Hi, I try & not speak out against those who believe Mormonism differently. There's two believing views in the Book of Mormon I feel works. Some people wonder about it being history. Others affirm it as history. I don't care which view one holds as long as they apply it's teaching to their lives. Van Hale a prominent LDS radio show host doubts Book of Mormon historicity. He has defended his faith quite a lot. I lean RLDS & I see Mormonism differently. If somebody is an LDS critic let them be authentically who they are. I have a friend who left the LDS recently & now attends a non-denominational church. I went to his Wednesday night service. I try not to defend so much anymore. I have been in hissing matches with people that go no-where. I debate for fun but I don't engage in dialogues to fight anymore. I am trying to move away from I am right & you are wrong kind of debates. Some people like myself choose the internet to express ourselves to others. It's my way of sharing who I am. Does anybody else feel like I do? Sincerely, Dale Quote

He says that one must be either cold or hot. I respect the anti who is adamently against the church far more than one who is casually accepting of all. Quote
Tick Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Having been away from the boards for almost a year, I did not get much time to get to know Amillia. I see she joined us in mid 2004? So what I am about to say might be wrong, because I don't know her well enough...But I have a suspicion about Amillia. I think she may be an Anti-Mormon who is here pretending to be a True Believing Mormon, and is acting all fanatical and self-righteous so that that it will make Mormons look bad. We all know many "normal" Mormons are good humble people...most are, at least, polite. With that in mind, Amillia is very likely posing as a Mormon on this board, so that people who read this board will think all Mormons are as intolerant as she is.Someone correct me if I am wrong, and I will apologize for the assumption. You talk about being parinoid? You go to far. And what is "normal". Most mormons are'nt jerks either, but I kind of am. Everyone is different. Everyone has their own ways. And remember gods people are strange. It would be a boring world if we all were "normal". So apoligize TS. Say you are sorry for being born.. Kidding Quote

I just speak against those who would casually make statements that would indicate the church isn't true or that JS was a wicked man, or that the bofM isn't true scripture. If that makes me a fanatic, then those who are considered humble by you, must be the anti's because they aren't fercly defending the church and it's truthfulness. Ok, well I apologize for assuming you were faking it.Christ might like you to be a fierce defender of the church, but he also said something about judging people...Anyway, now I am curious who you REALLY are, since it has been revealed that you posted under another name in the past.My guess is that "Trident" converted to the LDS Church and changed his name to "Amillia". He said judge with the Spirit (Moroni 7). Quote

Chapter and verse please.Sorry but I don't consider smart-alecky responses as answers. For example one of the first questions I asked you was this:So explain to me Amillia why you think these authors are 'anti'?You came up with this:Why do I think these authors are anti? LOL well I have read their stuff and it certainly isn't pro. That is about as far into detail you would go - what kind of an anwer is that? And that's been your style from the get-go.M. Quote
Jenda Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 I removed all the posts that had to do with trying to find out who Amillia is since it is not pertinent to the discussion. Please remember this board is for discussing topics and not people.Thanks.Jenda Quote
Jason Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Jenda, I don't see why you would remove them. "Amillia" ridiculed us for not asking her directly as opposed to speculating. Quote
Jenda Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 And you asked her directly in the other thread. If she chooses to answer that post, that is her decision. Quote
