Show him your old yearbooks so he knows what you used to look like.

Trade jokes with him to make him laugh.

Teach him to use a computer and e-mail. :)

Have him pick up his own mess when he's young so he gets used to it.

Use appropriate expectations for him.

Show him how to write a check and balance a checkbook.

Teach him gun safety.

[Dr T]

Take him to swing at the park.

Let him hang out with you. He has a need to be around you to learn what being a man is.

Take him on hikes and teach him to ford a stream. Getting dirty and muddy is all part of it. :)

Be the safe arms he can jump into. You know it's going to happen if you buy him Superman PJ's. :)

Know his doctor.

Be an example of service for him. It can be at a homeless shelter or feeding the hungry or whatever.

Be a source of neighborhood fun.

Meet his teachers.

Teach him magic tricks. :)

Teach him to be patient by showing him patience.

Show him how to fix his bike.

Teach him to throw up in the toilet, not in your bed or the couch on in your lap. He'll walk right past two bathrooms to make it to your bedroom anyway. If he can do that he can stop in the bathroom first.

Teach him to return what he has borrowed and take care of that item just like or better than his own.

Don't let him watch too much TV.

Take him on trips.

[Dr T]

Help him stay busy by trying out a new hobby.

Memorize scripture with him.

Encourage dance
