I have been reading this book the last few days and absolutely love it. I have not finished it yet but find it to be quite interesting. It basically follows the story of a 16 year old girl who finds herself trying her hand as a homesteader in Montana. Wanted to know if anyone else had read this book and if so what they thought about it.

Yes she is doing this on her own, the time period is in the early 1900s around the time of WWI. It is a very interesting book, and what I find even more interesting is that the author based the book on her grandmother. I like what she says in her first sentence about the research she did to write the book. She says "Thanks to my eighth grade teacher, I developed a healthy lack of interest in history until I heard a story about my great-grandmother, Hattie Inez Brooks Wright, homesteading by herself in eastern Montana as a young woman."

It makes me think of the spirit of Elijah touching people in this world. And reading through the book is very interesting, Hattie (the main character) has such a warm friendly voice throughout the book and she just seems like the type of person who would be easy to get along with. It has been fun to read her story.
