Since it is close to Valentines Day, I thought I would share this story about love.

What Love means to a 4-8 year old...

Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is so worth it. Touching words from the mouth of babes.

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?'

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.

So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love..' from Rebecca- age 8

And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

I think we need a few million more adults like this child too.

Love is when I'm lying on the couch miserable with morning sickness and I mention that I wish I had a slurpee. Next thing I know, I have a slurpee, even though it's night, and there's a storm and my husband has to work at 4 am the next day. It was even the flavors I like. Love that guy:)

I found this in one of my files on Love and Marriage. It's been there for so long I can't remember how I got it. Maybe a magazine or MSN or ? I thought their answers were pretty cute. Children can some times say the most amazing things and said so innocently!

There's certainly nothing wrong with that! As these children show, love comes in many simple yet different ways. Sometimes we adults forget that so let's be young again.
