talisyn Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I remember that day. I was at school and didn't see it, but my mom was crying when she told me about it when I got home. Here's some new information Chapter 5: An eternity of descent - Space History- msnbc.com :sunny:Astronauts don't die. They just get better spaceships. Quote
dazed-and-confused Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 i remember this statement shortly after the incident......perhaps within a week, that they had survived the explosion and died upon hitting the water. Quote

boyando Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I remember that the Salt Lake valley had been buried in fog for over a month. I was going between buildings at work, when all of a sudden, there was the sun. Everyone took break a little early and we were all standing around with smiles on our faces. Then some one hollered out "guy's, you got to listen to this". Nuff said. Quote
ADoyle90815 Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I saw it live in my 4th grade class as that teacher was on board, like most children in school that time. Quote
talisyn Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 Wow. For those who watched it at school, what did your teacher say? At my school a shuttle launch was kind've old hat so they didn't think it was important enough to show live. Quote
Jbs2763 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Mrs Paula said 'OMG" and just turned off the tube Quote
pyxiwulf Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Not only did we watch it live in school, but my teacher was best friends with the teacher on board. It was horrific and devastating. Quote
