According to the LDS beliefs, if you keep the commandments you will absolutely receive the desires of your heart. We call that kingdom the terrestrial kingdom and it is a wonderful place.

Does that include not drinking tea? ;)

Terrestrial kingdom, doesn't the Holy Spirit reside there, in LDS belief?

You can drink all the tea you want!

Jehovah and the Holy Ghost can visit the Terrestrial Kingdom. But I'm under the impression that they will be busy working elsewhere most of the time.

I have not read where Christ can or would visit the telestial degree but I've never read anything saying He can't or won't either. In D&C it says nothing of the Father visiting any lesser degree's and yet it says Christ will visit the terrestrial. According to this bit of knowledge it kind of makes me think celestial beings can do as Mikbone has said.

Hmm, I'm not sure why the answer to this question seems to be confusing.

Its actually pretty simple, especially for us in the church.

I'm not sure if Jessica, the one that asked the question is LDS or not. I only skimmed over the 6 pages of posts (luckily they weren't very long).

First lets get the definition of what makes somebody a God.

To me this is somebody that has all power. We could make that definitions more complicated then that, but for this discussion it suffices.

Now back to the question was Jesus a God, not. Jesus Christ did not have all power himself.

Jesus Christ, was called to be the savior, creator and so forth. Christ was given the power from Heavenly Father or from God. Christ ability to create worlds wasn't some power he had independent of his Father.

Christ is then a God, not because of his power, but because he was called to be in the Godhead. The same can be true about the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost has power because of his Calling in the Godhead. Now as we know in the church we have to be worthy of that Calling. Only Christ, could be the one to get that calling.

Christ has to pass through this mortal life just like off us do. Why, because Christ wants to become like his Father, just like we do.

I only saw one reference Section 93,

12. And I, John, saw that he received not of the fulness at the first, but received grace for grace;

13 And he received not of the fulness at first, but continued from grace to grace, until he received a fulness;

14 And thus he was called the Son of God, because he received not of the fulness at the first.

Christ hadn't recived a fulness yet, Christ was growing and learning in some respects as we are. Christ had the vail just like we do. (Now it is assumed he figured things out sooner then we do).

16 And I, John, bear record that he received a fulness of the glory of the Father;

17 And he received all power, both in heaven and on earth, and the glory of the Father was with him, for he dwelt in him.

After Christ past the test of this mortal life, After Christ was resurrected, then is when Christ received of his fullness. Now Christ was God because he had the power so to speak.

Christ is a little different than everybody else, because of his Calling in the Godhead. We don't know if Heavenly Father got his power the same way or not. All we do know is how the plan of Salvation works, and how those in the Highest Degree in the Celestial Kingdom gain all power.
