chami Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Hi all this is my first post who would like to help me Dear heavenly Father God would you like to help me, and this is my final request that I going to ask you. I know you help me lot, thanks for all that you gave me and provide me daily. But last few weeks I felt that you are away from me because I did not get any blessing. I was loser, so I want to know who was with me, is it you or somebody else. It is confused to me, because I prayed lot and I got blessing now I baptised as promised and command and I gave tithing to as well but I am not getting blessing and all gone wrong and I don’t have money to spend and I stopped my charity contribution. If I did not get any blessing after this week, I will start my previous prays because I need to get 2:1 degree that is desperately needed for me. Then I will realise and I will believe that I cannot pray to you directly, I have get assistance to join with my pray because you wasn’t with me in direct. So that will be another way to my life, to find the true. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen. thank you for all who read this Quote
MisterT Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Chami- What is your natural language? You don't write as a native-born english speaker, and I'm having a difficult time understanding what it is that you're asking. Quote
Elgama Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 sometimes what you think you need and what Heavenly Father knows you need can be two completely different things, I thought I needed a degree back in 1997, and was pushing through it when Heavenly Father removed my ability to use my mind to complete it (he'd tried the financial side lol I was still plugging on) Have you had a priesthood blessing? What did it say. I'd be praying and asking what you can do to make your situation better and for guidance. My life would have been very different if Heavenly Father had allowed me to finish my degree. Instead of a shopping list prayer demanding things from Him how about asking Heavenly Father what he wants from you? Quote

chami Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 I used to pray daily when I was catholic, my pray was to mother marry and st jude and God as well. now I am doing small pray and nothing reading stuff as well. Quote
Elgama Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I know that for people who are Roman Catholic, learning to pray like a Latter Day Saint is very difficult, maybe work on the Holy Ghost before you pray, calm your mind (I find breathing in relaxation counting to 3, breathing out tension counting to 5 several times works), read a scripture first, say your prayer and maybe read a scripture afterwards. MisterT Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 You really need to sit down with your Bishop and explain to him what you're going through and tell him the help that you need in order to get your degree. Ask for him to give you a blessing, and ask for him to beseech the Lord on your behalf. Quote
crazypotato Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Hi Chami, Sometimes when people first join the church, the devil is angry and makes a lot of trouble in their lives. He wants you to doubt God so that you will stop praying, going to church, reading the scriptures. He wants you to forget the Holy Ghost and your testimony. I think it would be great to get a blessing from your bishop. Have faith. The Lord loves you but sometimes it is hard because he does things in his own time and in his own way. May God bless you! Roseslipper Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Heavenly Father loves you and is very proud of you for seeking and finding truth and joining His church. Hes with you. Remember your His son. He wants the very best for you. Never give up on Him or yourself. Im sure you have been blessed in more ways then you can see at this time. Some blessing come quickly, some blessing take time, for its not the right time. Trust in Heavenly Father He knows whats best for us, some times we ask for things and its just not the right thing for us or the right time. And yes Satan is real as well, and he didnt want you to join the church, and he wants you and all of us to fall, so he tries hard to discourage us, dont let him. Talk to your bishop ask for a blessing is a great idea, also tell your bishop that you would like hometeachers, mingle with your brothers and sisters in fellowship, keep learning and growing....its a wonderful journey enjoy it...There is a quote I think from our Savior it says I never promised you it would be easy, only that it is worth it. As we learn to keep His commandments, as we pray, and read the scriptures read uplifting leature, and listen to uplifting music, etc. Love grows with in us...for man kind...its a wonderful feeling that grows with in us...as our faith grows, as we live to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost...heres some good websites to look at if u want. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LDS Songs, Mormon Music for LDS Church members at yourLDSradio.com Hope to see u again in the forums and also in chat, welcome to this site. Smile be happy God loves you.... Edited April 13, 2010 by Roseslipper said some thing 2xs lol Quote
the Ogre Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 I used to pray daily when I was catholic, my pray was to mother marry and st jude and God as well. now I am doing small pray and nothing reading stuff as well.Chami:Thanks for the post and very nice prayer. I like that it shows well your frustration. My recommendation: pray more and then be patient. Prayer and patience. Why? A few small prayers don't cut it. You have to pray a lot. Eventually you become accustomed to praying directly to our L-rd. Patience because as you pray more you will learn what the answers are and how the answers were given and then how to pray more effectively.Effective prayers? Ask direct simple questions. Yes/no questions are the best and then meditate on the question after it is asked and read the scriptures. The answer will come, but still be patient and continue to pray.Aaron the Ogre Quote
Maya Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Thank you chami, it was beautiful prayer. My son has a good friend who is from Sirilanca now living her ein Norway. Let me assure you you have done right, God loves you. I have noticed that no matter how much we WANT something, sometimes God has His own plans for us adn thus sometimes His answer is NO. There is always the possibility that God has something else for you. I know it would be great to get the exam through. Sometimes it is very difficult when God says no. Anuyway I am sure that if you have studied hard and God wants you to finnish He will help you. It might be great to ask a blessing from your bishop or hometeachers. To submit to Gods will is hard sometimes, to see blessings in things that YOU think are not good at all is also hard. Bad things happening to us often make us ask WHY? Where were You when I needed you? But believe me He is right ther beside you to support you. Sometimse it just is not the meaning that it would be the way we want and sometimes He says not yet... I have things that have happened to me, which I have really hard time to find any blessings in, yet I been a good menber for 30 years. But I know He is there, it is just my own stupidity that I cant see the blessings in my downfalls. Keep strong! Quote
chami Posted April 13, 2010 Author Report Posted April 13, 2010 yes I understand what you all are saying. I know I have to wait but I am so sad because why this is happening in this time in my life, this is very important time period in my life. May be sometime this period will be very bad if i did not with God. So I want to believe this will solve in future and I will keep my pray and try to keep His commandments. once again thank you all and just keep me in your pray when you pray. May God bless you!!!
