Guest The_Doctor Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) I'm not sure if I really need to repeat the poll question, so I won't. Edit: And why did you give the answer you gave to the poll? Edited May 8, 2010 by The_Doctor Adding On to the Poll Question Quote
Meeshu Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I remember reading Lovecraft in High School, because I was really drawn to the art on the book covers. I have never heard of this Mythos thing, so I'm hoping I clicked the correct poll box. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I like his stuff, because all the other describers of unfathomable evil out there seem to be fans of evil. The protagonists in Lovecraft are good guys. Quote

Nomad Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Funny thing, the Lovecraft: Fear Of The Unknown documentary was on TV a couple of days back. Have relished his stuff since I was a teenager. It's making me want to read At The Mountains Of Madness yet again, but I've got a schedule to keep with Joyce and reading the BoM at the same time. Quote
FunkyTown Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I want to like Lovecraft. I really do. But he's overly pedantic in his writing style. Quote
Guest The_Doctor Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 But he's overly pedantic in his writing style.Which is ironic considering he never finished high school and never went to college. Quote
talisyn Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 I tried reading his stories but they never really clicked with me. Kind've reminded me of Plato's stuff lol. Quote
Guest Alana Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I've read a few short stories and really liked them. When reading Lovecraft, I need to be able to really pay attention. For the last 5 years I've been reading things that go a lot faster. I'm thinking it might have to do with the kids. I want to read something that if I need to put it down mid sentence against my will, it'll be ok. Also, I need to be in the MOOD for Lovecraft. That mood usually happens when I'm all by myself. That hasn't happened in a long long time. Quote
