“Prepare slaughter for his children…that they do not rise”

This sounds pretty harsh at first, but our inspired footnotes soften it a bit: “Let not another evil generation arise and resume an evil regime” (Isaiah 14:21, footnote a).

Dualistically speaking, or speaking of “his children” as the children of Lucifer, we would note that those who have followed the evil spirit instead of the Holy Spirit become the children of the devil and that “the devil will not support his children at the last day” (Alma 30:60).
