Dravin Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 And ye will not suffer your children that they go hungry, or naked; neither will ye suffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and quarrel one with another, and serve the devil, who is the master of sin, or who is the devil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness.I also like: And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon the heads of the parents. That's more in line with some of the responsibilities of parenthood not advice on parenting though. Seminarysnoozer Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 what scriptures do you find most usefull when it comes to motherhood and parenting?I find myself going to Moses 5:11 a lot; " And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient. "I remind myself that Eve must have seen the whole picture a lot clearer than I can at times and that gives me a boost, she tells herself, 'yes this life is difficult but I am sure glad we chose to do it and have children so we can have a fullness of joy' - so to speak. So, even when I am pulling my hair out with my 4 children I think of Eve pulling her hair out with hundreds of children (maybe) and still with this positive attitude. Sometimes, I jokingly tell myself, at least with motherhood I can experience the full range of 'good and evil.' Quote
