Winnie G Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I found this poem and I just fell in love with its truths. I now have it hung next to the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. Every time I look up, I read it. "What is your Greatest Fear?" Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give permission to do the same. As we are liberated from out fear, our presences automatically liberates others. - Marrianne Williamson Quote

Palerider Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 My greatest fear is being called as a Bishop/Branch President a third time......LOL!!!!!!!!....what am I thinking I haven't even been released yet........ Quote
Serg Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I believe, first of all, that fear does not let us progress, that as the scripture says in proverbs " fear " traps men, and stop them. Hence John said in his epistle that perfect love for God puts away the fear. But anyways, my greatest fear.....at this time of my life, is not easy to discern...there are some, but i cant tell which is the gratest, BUT i do agree with a previous post that says fear of absolute power in our hands...well, it sounds..reasonable to fear. Serg Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 The scripture says that to the wicked it will pass what he most fears, but to the just it shall be given according their desire". To a person get a perfect love, takes personal compromise. No one of us has developed such a thing. But we can HAVE such a thing right now, this is, God's love can be given to us perfectly now, its us corresponding that love which needs progress. As a solution, is simple: The other face of fear is confidence. The same innosence that allowed Adam and Eve to die spiritually for disobeying God is the same that puts us right in God again. Innocense( to blindly trust), although it worked not so good with many, the Lord said that if its oriented towards God it cannot fail, for "If we be unfaithful, He shall stay faithful, He cannot deny Himself". We have to trust God, and try feel His love every day. We need to help people, be real friends and show them that. Because is of no worth to tell this to a person and then act unlike it. Tell that person, that if he is willing to try again in life, to once again trust blindly, exposing him(her)self again to deception, but hope and believe its for the best, and its not on people he(she) is putting his(her) trust but on God alone, that person will eventually feel loved, and hence secure. Jesus said that unless we are as children(inocent, trustful with their parents, etc.. we shall not enter the kingdom of God. Quote
