shanstress70
hi im looking for easy hard and tastey recipes that i could make thanksill be checking thisYou want 'hard' recipes? As in, I should chisel them on a granite tablet and ship them to you? Sorry, that was a dumb joke. But I'm not sure why you would ask for hard, as in difficult, recipes if you are just beginning to cook.Try the website www.allrecipes.com. I have been using it for a long time, and have found it to be the best. Most of their recipes are rated and have reviews, and they have literally thousands! Their search capability is great as well, with an ingredient search where you can type in what you have on hand so you can find a recipe that uses those ingredients. Also, you can search by types of food: desserts, main dishes, chicken, veggies, crock pot, etc. If you join as a user (for free) you get a recipe box where you can keep recipes that you want to try, making notes as you make each one.No, I don't work for them, but maybe they should pay me! Ray
Sweet-n-Sour Carrots, aka Cooked Carrot Salad Peel 2 - 2.5 lbs of carrots and cut them diagonally into 1/4"-1/2" thick slices. Cook the carrots covered in salted water (1-2 teaspoons salt) until just tender. Drain and run under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool them quickly. Set the carrots aside to cool completely. Whisk together the following ingredients: 1 large green pepper diced into small pieces 1 small red onion diced into small pieces 1 can of tomato soup 1/2 cup white vinegar 1/2 vegetable oil 3/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon yellow mustard 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Pour the dressing over the cold carrots and stir until they are completely covered. Refrigerate in a covered container at least overnight and up to 24-hours. Enjoy! :)

Guest MrsS
mmmmmm that sounds tasty!!!! those other sites were cool as wellit's hard to cook one person meals Don't cook just one person meals, cook for 4 or six, then freeze the leftovers. I used to do that. Bought a vacuum sealer just for that purpose. Froze the meals in plastic containers first, then put the frozen meal into the sealing bags, then vacuumed sealed them. To heat up, just pop into a 4 or 5 qt pot of boiling water, or slit a steam hole and nuke!I used to freeze up Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner - everything all in one bag, with enough of the broth to cover everything. Then when I nuked it I put the bag into a bowl ~ standing up, so the juices wouldn't get all over and scald me. Don't cook the potatoes or cabbage for very long, because when you nuke them they will cook some more. What ever you see in the store that is frozen, you can freeze at home. All cooked meats must have gravy or broth covering them to keep them from getting freezer burn, and to keep them from getting rubbery when they are nuked. These meals can be stored in the freezeer for about 3 months.
