I see this board has sorta died out again. Hence the nature of overly moderated boards, with moderators who moderate based on power plays and personalities.

Be that as it may, an update for any who know me, because I have been asked to do so from time to time....

Reni won a couple of girls national titles.... on in Michigan in the American style of wrestling, and one in the international style. She will probably win her 5th straight state against the boys on Saturday.

I was coaching softball (along with the wrestling as always) but the league sort of fell apart.

Reni is learning SCUBA at age 10 as well as a month away from testing for her Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do. We dive off of Catalina Island in June and again in August.

I am substitute teaching and get about 4-days a week... I am the favorite sub at three different schools because I am good at it. One school uses me for a notorious 6th grad class because I can handle them (I go wrestling coach on them). Another uses me for their Junior High for the same reason. From grade 3 on the trouble makers don't like me and the good kids like me a lot.. as it should be. The little ones - K-2 - like me a lot. Probably because I just have a blast with the them... they are a lot of work, but so much fun. I am still teaching college adjunct distance ed.. I get about nine classes a year. The inmates like me because I actually read what they write and give feedback.

It was 107 and humid today.

Summer will be busy as always... Reni goes to a summer camp in the Colorado Springs area.... she will do the horse camp part of it. Her and I will go to Klamath Falls Oregon for a huge regional wrestling tournament. After that we will hang around for a few days and check out Crater Lake National Park.

Anyhow, busy as always. Take care. :-)

Glad to have the update. I love high school and college wrestling. I try to never miss the NCAA championships each year.

I wrestled in high school and college. My son wrestled from the time he was 8 in freestyle and wrestled through jr. high school. Other interests took over during high school.

Sorry you feel that moderators are not acceptable but that will not change this from a moderated forum.

I am so glad to hear of the great success of your daughter and wrestling in a male dominated sport.

Best regards,

Ben Raines

Sheeze Scott,

Still complaining about that. Your post was moved to the open forum. It's still there I'm sure if your would take the effort to have Heather add you to the open forum.

Anyway,

Congrats on your great daughter. Always glad to hear how she's doing.

Snow - What you did was send that thing to this boards version of purgatory in an arbitrary way. It is not just you, but the nature of this board to moderate in this way. It has been for a number of years. Many of us Veterans won't play on such boards, which is some of the reason the board is relatively slow. Thanks for the sentiments on my kid though. :)

Ben - Thanks. The moderating thing is pretty arbitrary on this board. I mean I have done the board thing for years. I've moderated a couple of boards, including one now, so I know the drill. This board is arbitrary and even ridiculous in how it's moderated. It's been that way for years. That's the last I'll say on that! :P

OtherwiseI was the typical HS stud who went to college, wrestled a year, got hurt in my second year, and given I was immature, just sort of drifted away. It is one of my regrets that I didn't do the full college thing and is probably why I picked up the sport again as an athlete at 36. I am too beat up to wrestle competitively anymore but did so for eight years until a couple of years ago. I still coach and roll around with the kids though. Reni has more potential then I did.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for dropping by. As you can see, I've stuck with the board in spite of the earlier problems that were occurring between some LDS and some Non LDS posters, including yourself...

I hope that you will choose to visit again more often, and join in the debates, I miss your input.

Congratulations on Reni doing so well!!
