Oh my goodness. I have seen that movie many times (big ST geek here; I used to go to conventions) and up until now, always thought Kirk was just mis-calling 'lsd.' Never, ever considered that 'LDS' might be something else!

There was a moment that this reminds me of. There was an enormous tornado near here several years ago. The church members turned out in droves to help with cleanup and supplying storm victims, etc. The local radio station said "We would especially like to thank two groups for their ovewhelming support, the Latter-Day Saints and the Mormons."

Well, what can I say, people kept asking, "What church are you with"

Members would answer with the two different names.

Though, I think the radio station should've checked up on that before airing it.

Oh, I just remembered...in the local paper there was an article run about the coming Sacrament meeting...we are getting a new building soon, so we are advertising a bit more right now...the Stake church PR person called my hubby to get details about the Sunday meeting, and she told us it would be in the paper. I was planning to get a copy to show his mom, and invite her to come, etc.
