Which Mormon Church?

I see that there are 2 churches or 'wards' of which one is not much further than the other. I was wondering if it mattered which one I went to depending on geography, something like the catholic church. It may be silly but I'm excited about learning more about Mormonism and want to do things right.

You can go tolds.org and put in your addess and it will tell you what one to go to and when. :) HAve fun!

That would be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Go to Tools, then Maps. You can then search for the closest ward building to you.

If you can't figure out which ward you "belong to", then just show up to church and trust me, those nice people will tell you which ward you belong to. Enjoy!

The church asks that members attend the ward their area is assigned to. There are reasons for that having to do with opportunities to serve and to avoid elitism between the better off members and the less well off and some other reasons.

Not only two buildings, but those buildings probably house at least 2 wards. Some buildings have up to 4. So, you probably are actually surrounded by several wards. You just need to find out which one fits the boundaries of your house.
