lost123 Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 Okay. If someone you care about very much does not see a trait they have developed that is negative - do you tell them? I would want someone to tell me if it is something they could see would improve my life. Is that part of being our brother's keeper? Quote

I do not think it matters that much how much you like them - if you do not know them well enough to know how they would react - more better you no say nothing. The Traveler Quote
Martain Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 In my opinion, the answer to your question can be found in the book 'Without Offense - the art of giving and receiving criticism' by Dr. John L. Lund Quote
jstrattan Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 If I cared about the person, I would tell them in a respectful and loving way. They may not like it at first but they will definitely think about it later. Then it will be there choice to correct the problem or not. Just don't have a "better than you" attitude and you should be fine. Quote

I do not need a well-meaning brother or sister to point them out to me. On the contrary, such a thing would weaken our friendship and put me on the defensive in all future encounters. Quote

If you were doing something that was damaging to your eternal salvation you bet I would tell you. I would say hey sister don't smoke that crack pipe it's bad for you! It's like telling people about the Gospel. We do it because we care and want them to be happy like us. Most will throw it back in your face and laugh, just wipe off your shoes and keep walking sister! Quote
