apexviper13 Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 So my girlfriend mentioned about having a dream where her and I have a picnic. I want to make her dream come true. What are some good foods for a picnic? Quote
Vort Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 If this is the dream where she rips your head off and eats it, you don't want to know. Quote
Guest Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Good bread, good cheese, fruit, sparkling cider, maybe some olives, and a decadent chocolate dessert of some kind would be my choice. Quote

Use real dishes, silverware, glasses, cloth napkins. Use a nice blanket to sit on. Or if you are going to use a picnic table at a park, make sure you take a nice tableclolth.Even... take a couple of candles.food: I like Eowyn's suggestions and would only add some crunchy veggies. sixpacktr Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Have her make some fried chicken and potato salad. Make sure that she bakes a wonderful apple pie for dessert, and that she squeezes you fresh lemonade to drink. That way you'll have something to eat. Quote
mimi Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 For a nice summer picnic I think anything good and cool and refreshing would be wonderful. a good homemade chicken salad on croissants. deviled eggs. yumyum. a fruit salad. spinach and strawberry salad. and i saw a recipe just the other day i was thinking would be good for a picnic.... cold cucumber salad Cold Cucumber Salad — Pauladeen.comthere's a few good suggestions ^w^ Quote
shine7 Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Well, maybe you already had the picnic?? If not, how about at least one of her favorite foods?? To me as a woman, if my dh made a fave, I'd feel special and loved....the entire thing wouldn't have to be 'perfect' . And, is your girl one that likes real dishes....etc. mentioned?? Do what you know fits her likes and personality.....for me, I'd really dislike all of that.....what would matter to me would be that you thought of the picnic invite and made one of my fave foods, and maybe taking me to our favorite hiking spot..... IMHO. Quote
