Guest Ivo_G Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Hey guys :) I was just whatching a talk show and there was a monk talking on there and it got me thinking - what's the LDS view on monasticism? Quote
NeuroTypical Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 They make good honey. And some LDS folks have some gregorian chant CD's gathering dust somewhere. We'd listen to them more, but we're usually too busy getting married and having kids. Quote
rameumptom Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 Monasticism would be great for Mormons if we could marry, have kids, and didn't have to live in a monastery with a bunch of other monks..... Seriously, nothing wrong with the choice they make for themselves. They seek their own way of worshiping Christ according to their understanding. That many monks are so dedicated to Christ that they spend hours each day in mediation, prayer and scripture study, is something we LDS should consider for ourselves. Quote
Blackmarch Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I love gregorian chants. Monastacism is fine.. it's just not the way the Lord has revealed to his saints in these days. Quote
