RipplecutBuddha Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) Since I didn't see a music thread, I thought I would put this here.I finally listened to the new album out by Dream Theater called A Dramatic Turn of Events. Now, DT is my favorite band of all time, and this song isn't typical of their stuff, but I was blown away by it and I just needed to share it here with my friends. (The best part is that it's entirely in my vocal range so I can sing it too )However, rather than torture you with my singing, here's the song called This is The Life. Enjoy. Here's the lyrics as wellIn the heart of your most solemn barren nightWhen your soul's turned inside outHave you questioned all the madness you inviteWhat your life is all aboutSome of us choose to live gracefullySome can get caught in the mazeAnd lose their way homeThis is the life we belong toOur gift divineHave you ever wished that you were someone elseTraded places in your mindIt's only a waste of your timeSome of us choose to live gracefullySome can get caught in the mazeAnd lose their way homeThis is the life we belong toOur gift divineFeed the illusion you dream aboutCast out the monsters insideLife begins with an empty slateFragile left in the hands of fateDriven by love and crushed by hateUntil the day The gift is goneAnd shadows remainSome of us choose to live gracefullySome can get caught in the mazeAnd lose their way homeMemories will fadeTime races onWhat will they sayAfter you're goneThis is the life we belong toOur gift divineOur gift divine Edited September 19, 2011 by RipplecutBuddha Quote

Guest mormonmusic Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) I enjoy listening to the music others find moving so I can get an appreciation for all the diversity out there.....and since you started something here....I found one that I think is quite possibly the most moving and beautiful song of all time. The artist is a MASTER of building tension and then releasing it in the music. If you listen to the whole thing, the intensity builds and builds and builds with one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard...and even though the words are in a foreign language, the song touches me every time I listen to it.... Forward to 12 seconds to avoid waiting for the opening splash screen to expire, so you can get to the start of the song quickly.I'm not getting the YouTube joke above with Pam and RCB, so I hope I'm not doing anything wrong in posting a YouTube video!! I'm not, so I can still claim legitimate male brainlessness due to mediocre exertion over time. and....hopefully people enjoy the song anyway....hehehe Edited September 19, 2011 by RipplecutBuddha Quote
