Dr T Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hello Blessed, I don't deny the statistics and evidence of global warming. I have read about the huge land mass/icebergs eroding at a much faster rate. I just wondered if there is a cyclical pattern of our world. There were no SUV's or large factories during the ice age and therefore could not be the sole cause. Just my two cents. Dr. T Quote
Blessed Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Gotcha. And you better hang on to your two cents... could be worth some thing some day. :) Quote
shanstress70 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 If you lived in Alaska and could see the glaciers that are melting and at the alarming rate they are melting it might change your mind. Also for the first time ever in record a mosiquto ended up in Barrow this past summer. That is a scary sign. We have polar bears that are starving to death, seals that have moved to the southern parts of Alaska and glaciers that are basically becoming silty puddles. You can say it is cyclical, but at what rate are WE making it to go faster than it would. But perhaps they melted at this rate 18,000 years ago? And perhaps mosquitos lived there that long ago. I don't doubt that we are making an impact as far as global warming goes, and I think it's very worthwhile to minimize our impact on the earth as much as possible. But I just wonder how much of an impact, or if the earth has seen something of this magnitude, or worse, in the past. We simply don't know for a fact. Quote
Dr T Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Blessed, Are you saying my thoughts are worthless (now) :) ? Quote
Blessed Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hmmmm. Lemme think on that for a nanosecond. I will keep my conclusion to myself. Quote
Princess3dward Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Aww. I think your thoughts are great! Quote
