I plead for understanding among our people, for a spirit of tolerance toward one another, and for forgiveness. All of us have far too much to do to waste our time and energies in criticism, faultfinding, or the abuse of others.

I found this quote this morning. This is something I seriously need to work on.

I think that the term tolerance could refer to patience with people or our timing with a person’s remark or action. Efforts to become patient with another for his or her faults come from within through efforts to slow down or to speed up your timing.

The kind of patience that we all could use a little more of is love and kindness and understanding. Many of us could be kinder to ourselves as well by not being overly critical of our own mistakes or weaknesses. Just as we should treat others by not being judgmental of their faults, so should we be of our own and pray for understanding of an error. A persistent, run to tomorrow, attitude helps us to be more tolerant of all mistakes that are made. This includes an attitude of looking at difficult efforts to be patient while serving others.

Sometimes, by returning a soft pre-thought-out [tactful] answer for an unintended [innocent] mistake helps soften a blunt comment about the error another may make and manifest the kindness that is within the heart of the giver. This kindness process is something that I need to improve.
