skalenfehl
Thank you, classylady. I must confess that there are times when I'm about to hit submit and I ask myself, man is this stuff too deep? Too controversial? Too offensive? Judgmental? But the Spirit has borne witness to me more than once that I have done the right thing. The entire blog itself is the result of much prayer and supplication and I know that the things that I write are what the Lord wants me to write. There are other entries that I wish to submit, but I end up publishing something else and so this is where I'm at. I have had to take a long hard look at my own life in the last several years and what I saw was not what the Lord wanted from me. I have lost a lot the hard way and I gave up the rest voluntarily. I am finally where I need to be and in a position to move forward, continually refining myself until I see the Savior's image in my countenance. Nothing else matters. So I hope that what I write strikes a chord deep inside everyone else who reads it so that they have the same desire to take that hard look inside and make the necessary changes. If what I write/have written changes the life of even one person, then it was more than worth it.

skalenfehl
If thou wilt be perfect... "Perfect" is something that's been on my mind a lot the last couple of years. I love this scripture: 2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Foot note-Perfect: suited, ready, complete Our definition of perfect is different than God's definition of perfect Edited January 13, 2017 by Eowyn
skalenfehl
Thank you, Eowyn; I just now saw your edit of my post. Yes, that is correct. There are two Hebrew words, "perfect" and "perfection," tamam and calal. The first connotes wholeness and the second connotes completeness. The Greek translation from "tel" connotes both wholeness and completeness. We tend to think it means being flawless. I tried to have a discussion about this with a fellow elder in church the other day who believes we can never be perfect in this life. I can see how it is impossible to become flawless as he understands it, but I surely believe we can be made whole and complete.
