cool. I used to use the half life one in a game developement class a long time ago, when we'd test out some level designs over a LAN (between that, TF1, CS1, and a couple other HL based sources). haven't really had a chance to try any of the HL2 source mods out there.

one of the craziest network maps and one of the simpliest i've ever played; was an L shaped valley with a base at each end of the L (each with a capture point) and a base right at the turn, with a capture point.

My current fave is the escort carrier. Torpedo boat for sure!! Though sometimes I wish they'd let us put two custom consoles in one ship at times. I'd buy another escort just to get another torpedo defense system onboard.

Woot! same here. Totally plasma based :D. (actually it ties with the fleet defiant retrofit that one is sweet, and atrox when i'm not worried about putting out DPS)

And they said effective torpedo boats can't be done XD

3 plasma torpedoes up front and a dual beambank of some sort (sometimes ill swap the DBB for the harpang or the uber chroniton torp).

2 plasma mines in back with a turret or a 180 torpedo launcher.

Using adv Peregrine fighters. currently working towards the adv romulan fighter bay.

as fun as the torpedo defense sys is i dropped it for more plasma buff. I found i could get more milage out of a couple torpedo spread 3s and min dispersal 3 and 2 skills

Star Trek Online is also my guilty pleasure.

Just made Captain (34) yesterday. Not part of a fleet either.

If you want to invite me, my character name is cdr6565827d. (That's Chekov's service number that he gives in Star Trek IV).

Oh, and Star Wars The Old Republic just became "free to play" too, although I think I've spent a total of 2 hours on that one.

Okay, here's my layout, full on;

FORE WEAPONS

2 Mk XII Antiproton beams [dmg]x3 [acc] + Target Shields I boffs

1 Wide Angle Quantum Torpedo [acc][crtH][arc] (Mk levels with character)

1 Mk XI Tricobalt Torpedo [crtD][crtH][borg]

AFT WEAPONS

1 Mk XII Antiproton beams [dmg]x3 [acc]

1 Mk XI Quantum Mine [crtD][crtH][borg] + Mine dispersal II and III boffs

1 Mk X Quantum Torpedo [crtD][crtH]x2

I also have High Yield Torpedo II boffs and Torpedo Spread III boffs

M.A.C.O. Mk XI Engine, Shield, Deflector set, which adds

Magnetoplasma Relays (+ weapons power)

Heavy Graviton Beam

Then I have the Level 51 perigirines, Theta Radiation Vent console, and the torp defense console.

My other consoles give me

+26.2 Quantum damage

+26.2 Antiproton damage

+18.8 Torpedo damage (which stacks with the quantum damage)

For defensive bonuses I have

+35 able/alive crewman resistance

+18.8 hull repair

+16.2 kinetic/energy damage reistance (neutronium alloy hull plating)

+35% Crewman recovery rate

There's actually a few other tricks I have, but those are the main ingredients. I might give up one of my fore beam banks for another torp position, but so far they're pretty effective at knocking shields down, so time will tell.

I also like the atrox due to the great support role it's set up to provide. After that, it depends on my mood as to what other ship I like. The Oddesy class is great, especially if you have the hull separation console. That's a big bonus to turns right there. The only other ship that made me grin was the Multi Vector Assault class. I haven't explored it too much though.

Nice. My favorite map currently is Snow Bridge with each base at the end of a valley facing a tall bridge with flags at each end. The server I play lightened up on the gravity enough to let people mountain goat along the edges of the map. It's a pretty good set up. My other favorite map is Kiruna Fast, and it's massive. Targets on opposite ends of the map are close to one pixel in size....both of the maps are great sniper maps, and they're both snow maps to keep it a little fair.

I run an LDS fleet called Army of Helaman on Star Trek Online, we @prynce and @destroyer4316 are always looking for players.

We have both a Fed fleet which is Army of Helaman (AoH) and a KDF fleet which is House of Teancum (HoT). Just contact either me, @destroyer4316, or Prynce to be invited and added. Also we have a lds only channel ask about it when you want to join. The channel is for lds people and it is across multiple games and for any LDS member regardless if they are in the fleets or not.

I play Guild Wars 2 with an LDS guild. We also use mumble. Its a blast.

I just started playing GW2 and intend to play with another high priest in the stake who is already playing it. I think he is on Yak's Bend. I'm still just getting my feet wet. Is it hard to change servers or make characters on other servers?
