Pen-Pal for my 4 year old!

My 4 year old lds daughter is always asking about "mail" and how come she never gets any (this is a daily question) haha, before she gets into technology, social networking, emailing (she still has at least 4/5 years before that!) id like her to have a pen-pal-bring back letters, stickers, pictures etc.

She is 4 and a half, and we live in Australia. Due to the age and net safety, would be nice for me to be friends with Mum/Mom online casually (maybe FB) even a letter a month in the mailbox she would be over the moon! It only costs a few dollars to send, and although she can only write her name I can help her out, so any 4-5 year old girls or boys out there who would continue this long term...:) wanting a penpal please email me:) **moderator edit** Please don't include personal information***** thanks!!:):)

My Mother started us kids (eventually 7 of us) writing letters by having us be pen pals with our cousins. Mostly they lived in South Dakota while my siblings and I were in Washington state.

So- you can try that. Have you also considered contacting mothers in a ward within your stake boundaries? At 4 years old she can draw a picture of what she did that day or learned in Primary, then mail it.

Build a network of friends in your own area ~ expand out to another stake even.

I like the idea of other kids in your stake or ward.... extended family is great.

I might consider something like that but the postage outside of the US could get expensive

Seems like your objective is just for her to receive something in the mail, not necessarily send something to mail.

Subscribe to a kiddie magazine (Friend magazine has lots of pictures and activities) for her with her name as the subscriber. There's also Nickolodeon and Turtles magazine that my kids subscribed to when they were little. It has lots of activities for 4 year olds - coloring pages, connect the dots, etc. I'm sure they have tons of kiddie magazines in Australia. A 4-year-old really doesn't "write" too much yet, so a one-way thing like a magazine subscription would be great until she's old enough to actually express something in words on her own. It's not as effective if you're doing the work.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun :D

I have an assortment of kidlets that would love this. The closest in age would be my 4 yr old boy... I also have a 6 yr old girl

Pm me & maybe we could work something out for them... We're in Canada
