Okay so I am having troubles keeping calm and not screaming. I am still waiting to hear back from BYU-I and LDSBC on whether I am getting in, but its taking forever. So I keep forming the conclusion they don't want me. Yeah...

Anyways I have bad teenage angst and senioritis. I am cranky and moody all the time and constantly feel horrible. I think this may be affecting my decision on which college I want to go to. 6 days ago I was super excited to go to BYU-I because I wanted to leave home and get away from my atmosphere so I can focus on learning if the church is actually true or not. But for 4 days now. I don't know if I even want anything to do with it and I want to lay down in bed and never get out. What do I do!

What do you do? You wait. Even if you are rejected, they will answer you. It's tough to wait for that response, but that's all you can do.

If you want to be proactive, you could call the Admissions Office. But, temper your bad attitude/outlook. If you call them, be courteous and polite. And be prepared for them to tell you it's on its way.

In my day (I graduated high school in 1998), early applications for BYU were due February 15th, and regular applications by March 15th. Even if you submitted really early, they might not get back to you until after the deadlines.

Yeah I know. I turned it in before the priority deadline and they said they would get back to me in 6 weeks. Its been six weeks and 5 days.

Yeah, but in those 6 weeks we had Thanksgiving and Christmas. Even in my state-run university, there are fewer people around and less work done by the people who are around during this time of year. I'm sure something similar is going on at the religious schools. I have a nephew at a Catholic college and almost nothing gets done this time of year - plus they shut the whole place down during break.

They will get to you!

A funny story about college admission - My son and his friend applied to a huge 'State Ivy' as they are called. 30+ thousand students. My son got his letter, but his friend was still waiting. One day he gets a phone call from the admissions office, letting him know he's in. He was thrilled, but when he told his mother about it, she thought it was a hoax, that no big state school was going to call students. She called the admis office to see what was up.

Turns out that the university was trying to do more 'small school' outreach and thought calling some students was a personal touch they could provide. Sometimes you can't win for losing, huh? : )
