Church books, articles, music, anything that will help a wayward person as they begin the long journey back. I've recently read miracle of forgiveness, but looking for others that are helpful for people in my situation. Thanks in advance!

What do you need help with? Feeling judged? Feeling forgiven? Re-cementing your Faith? Refereshing your memory of various doctrines? More sources for the repentance process? I'm not looking for details, but there are many facets to coming back to the Church and if we knew which one, or ones, you are needing help with than our efforts can be better focused.

That is a good question, thanks. I guess what I'm looking for is material that will help me feel forgiven, and of the repentance process in general. I have made bad choices along the lines of immorality and word of wisdom. Looking to get back to how I felt when I was on my mission and living the principles of the gospel. I know it's a long hard road and I guess I'm looking for things that will help bouy me up along the journey (in addition to the scriptures)

The scriptures themselves are your best bet. They contain the pure doctrine of repentance as well as numerous examples of those who repented and were forgiven.

I can recommend some talks for that:

Finding Forgiveness - Ensign May 1995 - ensign

Repentance and Conversion - general-conference

Repentance and Change - general-conference

Repent That I May Heal You - general-conference

Two things in addition to the talks, the first is to study relevant scriptures, I suggest you look at the scriptures here and make sure to take advantage of the 'See also": Repent, Repentance

The last thing I suggest is prayer (though it is the most important), the Lord will let you know if you are forgiven. If you are not forgiven you can petition the Lord for help in what you need to do, or if you are forgiven in feeling forgiven. If you lack something along the path to repentance you can pray for it. If you do not feel Godly Sorrow for instance you can pray to have the Lord reveal your sin to you, that you can see them plainly and with a frame of mind aware of their significance. If you struggle with forsaking, not just in action but in thought you can petition the Lord in helping to resist. Even if right now you feel unworthy to pray I urge you to pray anyway because one is never unworthy to pray.

Hi. Welcome to the site.

If you haven't checked out the Mormon Channel yet, you might want to give it a go. You can listen to music, talks or watch videos put out by the church. You can also listen to audio scriptures and church magazines.

Good luck. :)

I recommend the book: The God Who Weeps by Terryl and Fiona Givens. It has been a great strength to me during a difficult time.

Oh, and my favorite talk ever about the Atonement...Brad Wilcox--His Grace is Sufficient

You can read, watch or listen to it here:

Speeches

I've never read it before, but I've heard that "The Infinite Atonement" by Tad R. Callister is a good read. Not sure if it's true or not, but I've heard that more and more bishops are beginning to have people read this book instead of "The Miracle of Forgiveness." Maybe it's less harsh or something. Either way, I've heard it's good. Might be worth a read: DeseretBook.com - The Infinite Atonement Hardcover by Tad R. Callister

Also, this is one of my favorite talks in the entire world: Speeches

Jesus the Christ is also an incredible book. It's one of the best resources I've ever read about Jesus Christ and his earthly ministry. The wording can be a little bit difficult to get into at first, as well as the first five chapters or so, but once you get through the introduction and understand the wording, it's incredible.
