Backroads Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 The people. The Gospel no, it's the people. I need to get away from the people and just self learn by watching general conferences and studying talks. The people distract me from reaching my full potential. There's a lot more going on in my life than just the people inside the church, but the people are what are bringing me to a breaking point. (NOT all, but some and those few do affect me more than I want them to). I can't block them out, I have tried they always get to me.And yet, do you think you can commit to a regular scripture and gospel study on your own?By all means, do whatever you need to do to take care of you. At the same time, do whatever you can do to connect with God--make that a priority.Just remember, it's hard for a coal to continue to burn when it's away from the fire. Quote
Still_Small_Voice Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 I don't think you guys get where I am coming from. I don't feel comfortable in the church and the more I go the more I resent it. I can't sit through sacrament cause I can't bear what they talk about. It sounds to me like you feel you cannot control how you feel. I do not believe that.If I have been having some difficulty listening during Sacrament Meeting talks I try to open the Scriptures and see what I can find. Usually the LORD will show me something I need in my life.I know someone else who chooses not to go to church personally. I think she feels everyone is judging her at church. But I also see her making unrighteous judgments about others.Choose to find joy and happiness in your life. If you do not have it get on your knees and ask the LORD to help you find joy. Men and women are that they might have joy. Quote
Chrissy3818 Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks guys. I think I found my problem. It goes way beyond the church and has to do with home and school. I just need to leave and I feel it. I am doing living a life at home and my life will get better once I leave. Quote
