I like Alma 34 for life scripture but specifically verse 32...

Alma 34:32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.

I've not read all of the Bible, and have only had one read through of the Book of Mormon, and about the 1st quarter of D&C.

But, I've got favorites!

Alma 32:21

And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.

And, thus:

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I like them so much because they helped me figure out that I needed to be baptized. I hoped for the BoM, and all the stuff I'd learned, to be true, and let faith come from that.

I also enjoy the following, which I discovered through my ex. Emphasis added to the parts I particularly enjoy.

Joshua 24:15

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

The Lord knew Laban, and the path that he would take, better then Nephi did. His explanation to Nephi gives a great deal of insight -

1 Nephi 4:13 Behold the Lord slayeth the wicked to bring forth his righteous purposes. it is better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief.
