Palerider Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 <div class='quotemain'>Its about the sanctity of the Lords church, the Lords buildings. There, now do you get it?And the Lord's church has separate rooms for separate purposes. I don't recall any dances being held in the chapel. They're held in the gym, or the "multi-purpose" room as it's called. How is having a dance in a church any less reverent than playing basketball in the church? They're not irreverent when in the appropriate room. That's why churches have "multi-purpose" rooms. I don't get your point???I think your Urim and Thummin needs new batteries...... Actually it's solar-powered and the sky has been overcast all week. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................good one Crimson Quote

Palerider Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 outshined is that list in a word doc you could send me?I would like to see what you all came up with.....here in our stake we use our Stake Youth Comm to find the music....when they catch on to this they are awesome.....because they know the words and can tell you why this is or isn't appropriate for a church dance. FrankJL Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 I don't want the list for my stake, I want it for my personal use. I'm just recently returning to being active in the church, and I have been recently going through my own music collection, trying to see what I should keep and what I should get rid of. What I've basically been doing is just playing through my whole play lists on my comp and just deleting, things I don't think are appropriate. This could take a while though, to go through my nearly 85gb of mp3s. Though the list would give me some ideas.. I'm really stuck on a few things... 1. Does one instance of a profanity make a song bad? 2. Does the intensity (for lack of a better term) make it bad? 3. Does any sort of indirect drug reference make a song bad, even if its not explicitly implied. aka...Deep Purple - Smoke on the water .....good / bad? and some other things that are kinda hard to explain, so I'll leave it at that Quote
