CrimsonKairos Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Anyone seen "Donnie Darko?" I saw it recently, director's cut. Weird movie. Interesting plot. Plenty of opportunity for discussions and disagreements. So again, anyone seen it? Thoughts? p.s. I wouldn't tell you to go out and see it, since it has about 100 f-bombs in the script, but if you can get an edited copy or something, check it out. Quote

CrimsonKairos Posted June 19, 2007 Author Report Posted June 19, 2007 *SPOILER WARNING* There has been some discussion that I've read online that in the movie, God used Donnie to correct the tangential universe or used his death to realign the fourth-dimensional aberration. I don't think it was supposed to be mocking Christians at all. In fact, when the storm sweeps the plane out of the sky at the end of the movie, you're supposed to be able to see an image of Christ's face in the clouds, implying his involvement in "correcting" the tangential universe's existence. It is definitely a complex movie. Quote
Guest the_big_picture Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Donnie Darko is a good moving picture. But what is F-bombs?*SPOILER WARNING*There has been some discussion that I've read online that in the movie, God used Donnie to correct the tangential universe or used his death to realign the fourth-dimensional aberration. Where did God came in to that movie? You can see Jesus in the clouds, of course you can, you can make anything of clouds. Quote
CrimsonKairos Posted June 19, 2007 Author Report Posted June 19, 2007 F-bomb = "the f word" Clarification: Supposedly, the writer/director put an image of Christ in the clouds, i.e. it was his intent not the random interpretation of his fans. It would help if he would just come out and say, "This is what I meant this scene to convey, and this scene, etc..." Quote
Fiannan Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 The end was totally disjointed and spoiled the film as a whole. Quote
CrimsonKairos Posted June 19, 2007 Author Report Posted June 19, 2007 It was kinda' off, but then the whole movie was disjointed. Quote
StosRob Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 I have been laughing for the last few minutes because I was reading too fast and I read "Donnie Dorko" and that is what made me read this post. I guess I needed a laugh. :) Quote
pushka Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I saw it about 3 years ago and hated it!! I just thought it was soo juvenile, mixed up as well, as a few others have stated. The person who invited me to watch the movie warned me about it's supposedly being 'dark, disturbing', I found it laughable...then again the movies that I find disturbing are more like the Saw trilogy and others of its kind. Can't remember much detail from the storyline, cos I found it so difficult to watch and take seriously. Quote
