Lapalabrasinfin Posted September 3, 2014 Report Posted September 3, 2014 Hello, I've become friend with some Baptist people and I really enjoy some of their tools for studying the Bible and they have really good material regarding Christian live. Have you ever tried to seek interfaith knowledge? Thanks. Quote
Str8Shooter Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I have a little bit. There are good things, but from the little I saw there were too many errors in basic doctrine to keep the spirit strong while studying. The church has tremendous resources for study and much of it is free online. Lapalabrasinfin Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Hello, Yes, I saw that while talking to my friend. We clashed discussing priesthood and the Godhead. Wouldn't you mind sharing with me the tools you use? So far I've been using the app for iphone and manuals. Thanks =) Quote
AngelMarvel Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 There is so much LDS information that I haven't read and need to understand, that I just don't bother with other faiths. I know where to find the truth... and stick to it. Love this Church. Quote

Everything from the hymnbook to the handbook2. The study manuals that are used for the religion courses are found in the "institute" section. Be careful- it's easy to lose track of time when looking through so much great information. Daybreak79 1 Quote
rayhale Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) I don't want to advertise anything, but there is a Bible study software program called "Logos", it is mainly for Protestant Christians, but has LOTS of books in Hebrew, Greek, and other major Bible languages, It also has some major Jewish works like the Talmud, Midrashs, and many, many, many more. If there is enough people that buy them, they will even publish (in a hyperlinked e-book format) the 1830, and 1920 Book of Mormon, Journal of Discourses, and other Public Domain LDS books. Needless to say it's a major tool to really search the scriptures. Edited September 4, 2014 by rayhale Quote
andypg Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 At school I'm specializing in theology and Catholic Studies. Since I go to a Catholic university, most of what I study when it comes to theology comes from Catholic sources. Honestly, I have benefited so much from reading them! Sometimes I'll read the Bible in the NRSV translation (Catholic edition, as all my non-KJV translations are). Church resources are great, though I like getting multiple points of view. Quote
Palerider Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I have used many LDS resources for studying. Right now while studying the Book of Isiah we are using a book titled....Understanding Isiah. Quote
