I don't really understand something, this shooting that took place in Virgina Tech a few months ago. Why are they calling it a massacre? I don't want to sound dsirepectful and my heart vleeds for the familyies and vicims involved but form what I heard there was not even 10 people killed. A massacure is where at least a towns full of people are slaughtered. I am shocked that they would concider calling this a massacre. 9/11 that now that was a massacre, the holocost as well and think of in the past 500 years how many massacres where literly hundereds of people were slaughtered. I guess I am just ranting here

Definition of massacre

to kill unnecessarily and indiscriminately, esp. a large number of persons

To me 35 people killed in one place is a large number of people.

Media Hype...I don't know...

This is the same media after all that referred to him as a "gun fanatic" and "weapons expert". Considering he used a .22 Walther P22 and 9mm glock 19, he doesn't qualify as knowing much about weapons. If his intent was to kill as many people as possible, these where two poor choices of handgun calibers.

Luckily though, because of this choice of weapons a lot of his victims where only wounded and not killed.
