How do I talk to to one person outside a thread?

1. Find a post by the person you want to talk to.

Hover the cursor over the person's name, on the upper left of his/her post.

On the contextual dropdown, click on 'Send message'.

I must say seems counter-intuitive, it would be nice if there was a small arrow or ellipses or something to indicate that things can be done there. *cough* *cough*
