Jesus Christ feels that when we succor another, it is the same as succoring Him. How can we deserve a warm welcome from the Savior? The Lord has given us something that we all can do. A commandment with a wonderful promise for those in need and for us. This would be the Law of the Fast. We are offered the opportunity to fast once a month and give a generous offering to help the poor and the needy. Perhaps even from our own family. The commandment to fast for the poor has a great promise to go with it. Inspiration and spiritual guidance will come. It was fast offerings that have assisted in those areas hit by Cyclone Pam. Part of your fast offerings used this month will go to help someone whose relief will be felt as if it was His own. Even during chaos in Sierra Leone, church membership grew. Donations from people just like you and I allowed those people to purchase food and clothing in that area. Fast offerings can change a life. If you live the principles of the fast long enough, it will bring you the promised blessings. We are invited to help Christ as He helps the poor and in His way.
