Antinomianism

In another discussion, I learned a new word -- Antinomianism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinomianism ). As I understand it, it references a belief that Christians are no longer subject to any kind of moral law. They may adhere to a moral law, if they choose, but it is not required. Wikipedia describes it as "an exaggeration of justification by faith alone" that many Protestants argued against -- including Luther (perhaps, especially Luther).

I wonder how much of LDS pushback against Protestant Christianity is really pushback against this antinomian philosophy.

An interesting statement attributed to Luther: "Anyone who does not do good works in this manner is an unbeliever...Thus, it is just as impossible to separate faith and works as it is to separate heat and light from fire!" PC has described the "faith vs. works" debate before as a false dichotomy; it would seem that Luther agrees with him (or he agrees with Luther).
