I might just have to order one. The credentials of each of the presidency is amazing. Thanks. The Genesis Group is an amazing organization with a rich history. It was formed under the direction of Harold B. Lee (with assistance from Boyd K. Packer, Gordon B. Hinckley, and Thomas S. Monson -- I believe in 1971). The current presiding General Authority for the Genesis Group is Merrill J. Bateman. I don't know much about the current president, Don Harwell. But the prior president, Darius Gray is one of the leading researchers (if not the leading researcher) in regards to Black members and the priesthood, and Black members in the early LDS church. Quote
pam Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I had heard just the name of the Genesis Group. I never knew what it was or what they were all about. I am glad to see that such a group exists. Seeing the positions the leaders hold in and out of the church, would to me,show the world that we don't hold blacks to any lesser degree than any other member. I know that is an opinion that many of the world hold. I myself would love to learn more about their history. Those that were pioneers. I find it fascinating. Quote
BenRaines Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 Is Genesis Group to LDS like the Iluminati to Catholics? just kidding. :) Quote
