Traveler Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) It finely happened – fans at the Tour de France got in the way and ruined stage 12 of the race. One kilometer from the stage finish fans blocked the race way taking out the leader in an accident and changing (ruining) the race. Fans in the race way has been a way thought to make the race more popular. This is likely to change everything and keep fans not just out of the road but permanently behind barriers and away from the riders. The Traveler Edited July 15, 2016 by Traveler Quote

This is the first time that I remember that a leader had such a lead that there was no question they would finish the segment first - a life time achievement for a cyclists in the Ture de France. Race officials are still trying to determine what to do or who to announce as the winner. There have been many fan caused interferences (like throwing a flag in front of a cyclists and catching on the handlebar – lots of taunting or encouragement within inches of riders) – but it has always been considered part of cycling – unless the interferences is flagrant and deliberate to change the outcome. Anyway perhaps the drama of it all will get a few more viewers???? The Traveler Quote
