Sunday21
https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/10/if-ye-had-known-me?lang=eng&cid=email-shared Does anyone have any ideas on teaching this conference talk? I had thought of dividing the sisters into 4 groups and have each take one of the 4 steps. Have them devise action steps for each step eg what is the speaker asking you to do? Any ideas greatly appreciated. Edited April 1, 2017 by Sunday21
JohnsonJones
I haven't any good ideas on it that sounds better than your idea. Sounds good to me. Sunday21
Sunday21
Believing Him. I was wondering about the last step in this talk, Believing Him. We need to believe that the blessings described in the scriptures of eternal life pertain to us personally. I have met a number of people who believe in a lack of blessings for themselves personally eg that they should not pray for themselves, that they can never do enough for the Lord abs so must exhaust themselves. When I talk to these people they stubbornly cling to these harmful beliefs despite reference to the scriptures. I wonder if they are being competitive, I am more spiritual than you. Eg they feel that they are operating on a higher plane. I wonder if they feel that there will be a big reveal after death in which they will be crowned the winner. Any thoughts? Any thoughts on how to teach the importance of believing in G-d's blessings for ourselves. Perhaps people are concerned about missing the mark? Not doing enough and missing the celestial kingdom? Perhaps people have a fear of failure? Edited April 13, 2017 by Sunday21

CCreed
I am curious to know how your lesson went. I am teaching this tomorrow in RS with the strongest emphasis being on Believing Him. I appreciate the scriptures shared above. :-)

I will put people in buzz groups for this part. I will have each buzz group report on heir impressions, what does 'believing' mean? Hen we will walk through the rest of the lesson. What are you planning to do? Edited April 29, 2017 by Sunday21
