Traveler Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 I am going to make a prediction about the upcoming general conference. Despite all the political upheaval and all the concerns over politics and party division and parasitism - There will not be a word of concern over politics other than to pay attention and support "good" individuals, from the "brethren" and the entire focus of conference will be on other things. The Traveler You may be right. We could use a welcomed break from the toxic political pollution of Russian collusion, allegations of gang rapes, hands-up-don't-shoot, global warming, illegal immigration and the like. As I listen to the "news" and talk radio and various podcast, I feel in constant need of a shower. So, I am pretty much turning it all off for awhile, and look forward to two days where I can hear what I can do to fix what is wrong with me personally and become a better person, and not be misjudges as racist, homophobic, misogynist, xenophobic, deplorable, etc., rather, just a beloved child of God in need of atonement and a penchant for charity and gratitude towards God and man. To me, all that is wrong with civil governments in general throughout the world, and the U.S. government in particular, are much less correctable by focusing on the collective where we have little or no control, than focusing on the individual where we can captain or own ships . However, the Church has recently sent out a letter in opposition to Utah Prop 2 (medical marijuana), so there may be some attention paid in that regard., though I doubt it. Ah...two days of rest from the cares of the world. [thumbs up] Thanks, -Wade Englund- Traveler 1 Quote
