It seems that puppet shows are somewhat of a dying medium of entertainment.  I remember in my youth that there was a puppet known as Howdy Doody.  The equivalent today is more along the idea of what we call muppets.  What is interesting to me is that a puppet or muppet has no personality – the personality that we see is that of the puppet or muppet master.  We seldom remember the puppet or muppet master – we only remember the puppet or muppet master.

I have long thought that what is going on concerning our White House is a puppet show.  As a result, we are blaming our president when we should be more concerned with the puppet master.  It is said that Washington DC is a swamp that need draining.  The problem is that we seem to be bent on draining the swamp of puppets rather than puppet masters.

Perhaps we ought to be more concerned with community organizers than we are of the communities they organize.   Instead of concern for the show we need to be more concerned with the showman.  Obviously, the White House is not being run by anyone that lives there.  But I do strongly suspect that it is currently being run by someone that use to live there.

I said the same thing to my dad last week, just in casual conversation. I grew up with some toy marionettes and puppets and it seems like kids don’t have that today. Oh well, different generations like different things.
