Hello to everyone! I'm an Air Force officer and decided to use my call sign as my user name. I was baptized into the church on April 6th, 1995 and I've been having a blast ever since. LDS apologetics is my hobby and I teach the CTR 6 class in my ward. I look forward to some great discussions and meeting some great people here!

My younger son is a bit dreaming about Air Force.. teh ariport is just a few miles from us.. about a mile through air... but not sure if his eyes allow him... and the report from school..he is a lazy one!

Wow! I'm amazed to have received so many greetings already! To answer tree's question about my call sign, that's something of a mystery. One day I came into work and someone had written "ghetto outlaw" on my locker with a Sharpie. I never found out who did it and can't imagine where they got the idea but it stuck and I've used it for years.

In response to the question about what is LDS apologetics: The way I would describe it is to say that I like to study my faith in-depth so I can explain/articulate why I believe in Christianity in general and the LDS faith in particular from a logical, reasoned perspective. Does that make any sense? A good example would be what the folks at FAIR LDS do. They have a great website. I give it my highest recommendation.

Hi Ghettooutlaw,

I also like to read Aplogetics and get a kick out of how the truth outshines the darkeness. Have you read the article from Dr. Peterson on the time the Baptists had their convention in SLC? It is called "And the Blind Leadeth the Blind" or something close to it. It addresses much of the misinformation that comes from that side. I am sure I speak for everyone here, as I state how proud we are that you are defending our country. We are all patriots and express gratitude for your service to us and our country. I am a convert, joining in 1970 (See New Era Article, "With the Spirit You Can Do Anything") Oct 1979 by Vera Judge. I studied many, many, faiths before being brought by a best friend to a sacrament meeting. I know the fullness is here. If we only had II Nephi Chapter 9 & 4 it would be sufficient to declare that the fullness had been restored.

All the best in your endeavors,

Abraham

Thank you very much for your warm welcome. We in the military have to put up with a lot and it's nice to be appreciated. I'm familiar with the article to which you refer. I believe the title is "Shall They Not Both Fall into the Ditch? What Certain Baptists Think They Know about the Restored Gospel". Daniel Peterson is brilliant and this article is amazing. It's especially meaningful to me since I was a Southern Baptist prior to my conversion.
