I was chatting with someone last night (in the chat room) and I was told

that women do not need to be married to be exulted. Is this true? I thought men and women must be married either here or in the spirit world to be exulted. This only applies to men?

Also, she told me that in the Spirit World, there will be more women than

men and some men will have more than one wife. Is this true?

How are men suppose to view this? Are we suppose to be jumping for joy that we might have more than one wife in the Spirit World? I'm not married. If I should leave this temporal body (die) tonight and go to

Spirit Paradise, I might end up with a wife or two or three or more?

I just joined March 8th. I'm still learning! :)

If someone does not have the opportunity to be married in this life, no blessings will be witheld in the next if worthiness allows for it. In otherwords, if someone, male or female, does not get married in this life because no one asked or accepted, that alone is not criteria to lose exaltation.

That being said, "the man is not without the woman, neither is the woman without the man, in the Lord". It takes both a man, and a woman, to be complete, in the Lord.

Also, she told me that in the Spirit World, there will be more women than

I think this is just speculation based on the number of men and women in the general population. I suspect, that the probability of there being the exact number of men and women in the afterlife, is pretty low.

Of course, without exaltation, it won't matter if the numbers are equal or not.

How are men suppose to view this?

With fear and trepidation.

That all depends...some will have more than one wife, others will not. That is all up to the Lord.

Exultation is getting into the highest kingdom in Heaven or the Celestial Kingdom. (Correct me if I'm wrong folks.) To get there everyone must have the sealing ordinances done, men and women. Some may enter the celestial kingdom without marriage but they cannot reach the highest level.

I'm not sure about the amount of men and women in the spirit world but if the physical world is any indication then yes there will be more females in the spirit world. (all you have to do is look around, I think women out number men 2 to 1)

Remember this is my opinion not official doctrine.

Men and women must enter into the new and everlasting covenant of marriage to receive exaltation. (see GS, Exaltation)

Concerning those who did not enter into this covenant in this life, both male and female, but would have, had they had the chance, will have an opportunity to do so. Most of this kind of work will be performed during the Millenium. The same is true for those who died without having a chance for baptism (except little children). We have already begun the great work for the salvation of the dead in our temples.

Everyone will have a chance to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all it's ordinances of salvation. Some will not accept it, and will "...remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity; and from henceforth are not gods, but are angels of God forever and ever." (D&C 132:17)

that women do not need to be married to be exulted

Kind of.... The details aren't really known. If a woman dies never having

the chance to get married then this won't be held against her. This then

assumes that should can be exalted.

Does that mean she well be married in the next life. we don't know. We

just assume so. (sense there probably well be faithful men that didn't get

married also).

there will be more women than men and some men will have more than one

wife. Is this true?

No this is not a doctrine of the LDS church. This is just somebody making

assumptions on different ideas of the church (that there are more Woman

members then men and so forth).

The more then one wife is tough. We don't know what is happening in the

spirit world. We do know that in the temple now a man can be sealed to a

second wife (if his first wife has passed away). people assume something

like this well happen in the next life, but its only assuming things.

If I should leave this temporal body (die) tonight and go to

Spirit Paradise, I might end up with a wife or two or three or more?

No, you are going to be forced to marry somebody you don't want to (How

would that be a heaven) and you aren't going to be forced to marry more

then one wife.

One thing you well learn in the LDS church is each member has there own

views of different doctrines. You have to get use to separating the

Personal views, from the Doctrines of the church!

Everyone must covenant with G-d and obey all his commandments. Marriage is a commandment of G-d. It is quite possible that there will be more women to accept G-d's covenants than there are men. Currently there are more women than men in the church. When I served as a missionary women were more likely to listen and be baptized than men.

No one has anything to worry about – G-d will not force anyone to do anything they do not what to do.
