srm Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Jason is not alone! here is a debate between a Mormon and a former Mormon who is now a Catholic.CLICK Quote
broadway Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Interesting, indeed. There is a book written by a member of the LDS church that believes that there are only two Christians sects that seem valid. The LDS church and the Catholic church. Either there was a falling away, or there wasn't. The author says there was a falling away and goes on to prove (with mostly biblical scriptures) how this is so and why the LDS church is the correct church. Maybe you have heard of it A Marvelous Work and Wonder Quote

The book is mostly an overview of the entire LDS movement. His treatment of the apostacy comprises only one small chapter. Some of his book does deal with evidences of being the true church but again, that is only a part of the work. Quote
Lindy Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Thanks for the link....it will be interesting to read....oldest son is Catholic and we enjoy debates now and then. Quote
Jason Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 There is omething that I would recommend for those of you who are really interested in the Early Church. What's truly fascinating, is that there is not a Church on the face of the earth (Mine or Yours) that completely resembles or teaches the things found in this text. A must read for all seekers of truth! "A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs" by David W. Bercot It is really an Index so to speak of the multi-volume Ante-Nicean Fathers. Highly recommended! Quote
twisted_pretzel Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 Debating is so fun, but sometimes it drains you a lot. Quote
