  1. Xoomer.... Please don't take this as I am trying to dissuade you in any way. You have to make the right decission for yourself. Please allow me to share a story........................................... There once was a little house.....it wasn't grand it was plain and simple. However it was built with good and stong material. The house was proud of itself it provided the need shelter w/out any leaks. Then one day it felt some shaking....then some hammering. What had this house done??? Why all the pain? It was good little house. It served its purpose. Then the bulldozers moved in....and more shaking and more hammering. What was going on? The house looked around it didn't recognize itself....it was more then just a small house. The change was painful and at times it felt nearly dreadful but the house was not a simple little home any more................it was a grand mansion. We are a lot like that we see ourselves as simple and change is difficult and at times painful but the change is so worth it. Remember you are loved..................no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. First.........I hope this is in the right place:confused: Earlier in chat some one asked how they could best dispute with an anti LDS group. It is in my opinion to simply not engage, ignore, walk away, etc. I know that nothing I say will change their minds (as all are entitled to believe what and how they may). I also believe that by giving them the time of day that in some small way I am encouraging the behavior. Is this the best method? Is there another way and if so what?
  3. all I'm going to say is......................its 106 degress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's allowed to wear what ever she wants!!!! I just feel bad for the secret service who had to tag along and couldn't wear shorts (
  4. agree....life and.......................... Perhaps one person listened to the prompting to call the individual when some one else did not,
  5. Swimming is great!!!! However IF you are not swimmer it can be difficult and frustrating to get a decent work out. Water Aerobics and Water Exercise (yes there is a difference) might be a great place to start....and trust me they are a work out!! I would also second what Josh said about wt. training. Drink lots and lots and lots of water!!!!! Watch what you eat and keep a food diary. I wish you the best, because I've been there and it is possible to come back!! I just did my first 5K!!!
  6. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Exactly, Wing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. I realize that this isn't what is being asked so please bare w/ me as I get on (and off) my soapbox. Just as Dazed mentioned there are good and bad just as with any and all professions. What I ask is that you consider what they do and what they see as apart of their job. The see the bad. They see the ugly and the horrific that humanity has to offer. And all they want is to come home at the end of their shift. And every day their spouse dreads seeing a patrol car parked infront of their own house w/ the news that there love isn't going to come home. (In most cases spouses know before hand who will be delivering that horrible news) So I ask be kind......be respectful. They are putting their life on the line for each of us. And I ask that you please keep Sgt. David Kinterknecht family in your prayers as he was KIA 7-25-2009 in Montrose Colorado. Sergeant David Kinterknecht, Montrose Police Department 'a thin blue line'

  12. One of my favorite is the Church History Museum.................if your into geneology then the Family History Library is a must. I am also a bit partial to This Is The Place Heritage Park - - -http://www.thisistheplace.org/ While at Temple Square I also recommend seeing the film "Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration" at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

I have no personal experience w/ either the Mirena or the ParaGard (copperT) IUD's. The physician I worked for however placed numerous of both. One thing you have to remember is that it is only 99% effective and I have seen the 1% happen!! It truly is a personal choice and one has to be comfortable checking for the device. In case your interested here is the official site to the copper T IUD: ParaGard IUD Contraceptive - Birth Control Options using Intrauterine Conception - ParaGard. good luck!
  14. Thank you all for these extremely useful posts!!! I tend to sit the fence.....I believe that western medicine has greatly enriched/blessed our lives however I also strongly believe that we tend to forget that there might me a natural remedy that could also benefit our lives. I have been previousely manipulatd/adjusted, however it was done by a D.O. and not a chiropractor. Sadly the community lost this provider in an avalanche and I haven't trusted any one one to adjust me. As Gwen and John Doe have stated I too believe that wellness is a process and there isn't a quick fix. I have made numerous changes over the past 6 monthes and running is just one of them!
  15. Hello and welcome to the site!
  16. Well........................I went!:) Not a complete believer in every thing that was said/done BUT I do feel better;) I guess the tell tell sign is when I go for a run:confused: I am still very open to advice as I am so new to this whole running thing:eek: Thanks again for all the input!!
  17. My last run I decided I needed a little variety....and ran up a canyon. Needless to say it was the down hill that I think did me in.
  18. Ok.......................I've been running for awhile now (in fact I am planning on doing a 5K on August 1st:cool:) My problem/concern is during my last run I really messed up my IT Band. Been doing stretches and finally went in and had it injected:eek:. IT band feels really good BUT I am starting to think that my hip is out of alignment. Should I go to a chiropractor??? I have never been to one and to be honest I'm a bit nervous. I really really want to run this 5K.............I've been working really hard and NEED to do it for myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thnks!!

  20. Dear Too................. I feel that you have taken words right from my aching soul. Please, please know that you are not alone. Many, many times I have felt forsaken by our Heavenly Father and have cried in anguish for the hurt and the pain to simple go away. It seems as if those prayers, those pleadings and beggings have gone unanswered. What I have come to realize and perhaps understand is that pain is apart of who I am but not what I am. I have allowed it to conquer me because I became obsessed with it. By no means am I better I battle my demons every day and some days I lose. But that is so ok!!!! I don't have to win every battle..............because the ones I do win makes me want to win even more. I am not sure if my ramblings have helped, but because you still get up every morning and do what you need to do you too are winning a battle. See the blessings that you do have, don't get lost in the ones you don't. From one sister to another --((hugs))
