I know your hurt and sad and angry and every other emotion under the sun but you ARE NOT UNWANTED!! You are wanted and loved by Heavenly Father and by all those who have and will continue to stand by you. Things will change for you and you will be different because this has changed you but you will be stronger. Im sure that you will be able to trust again in time as well. Lean on those who stand by you and love you and rely on Him to give you peace and solace.

Any women with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)?
breezygirl replied to yenni's topic in Health and Exercise
I have it. Took me 15 years to find a doctor who believed me when I said something was really wrong. I gained 70 pounds over the course of 2 years without changing my diet or exercise plan yet all I heard was eat less exercise more.. This disorder is linked closely with diabetes and I am now battling the diabetes that came with it. People have no idea just how life altering PCOS can be and what shocks me is that so many medical people have no clue of a disorder that affects as many as 1 woman in 10:eek: -
I might be way off track here but... maybe you can find someone like me. Someone who wants to learn more and be more involved but cant for one reason or another and then you can share with them what you love about being LDS. Maybe sharing your love of the church with them will benefit you both. I could be wrong tho it happens all the time:rolleyes:

No concrete floor but it is dig proof. It was set up with a dig proof barrier around the outside edge and the inside perimiter. As far as them being pets I mean that in the sense of feeding them treats by hand and having them tame enough to approach and handle. My grandma always had chickens and we always had one or two that were really tame and would come when called and eat from your hand. I know they have a limited laying life and according to everybody I talked to at stock show ,buffs are prolific layers when they are laying. I live about 6 blocks from city hall and the local police department so Im not exactly rural. I cant free range my hens and at .70/.80 cents a pound chickens to eat are way cheaper to buy. I also really hated having to pluck after butchering at my grandmas so not really looking to raise these guys for meat although as big as buffs get they would probably make good roasting birds. I just miss the taste of home grown eggs and I like chickens so......here we are getting ready to buy a couple of pullets. Im sure it sounds goofy but I'm actually ok with being goofy:)

Thanks for the reply. I am going to be getting 2 buff orplingtons (city only lets me have 2). They are big chickens that lay between 3 and 5 eggs per week which is more than enough for just the 2 of us. I have a 10 x 10 dog run that I am going to put a roof on to keep coons out. I was planning on using it for the pen and putting a small coop inside it for shelter ,roosting and laying. The predators we have had in the yard include hawks( they bath in my pond:rolleyes:)coons and fox. So far we have escaped the coyotes on my block but I expect to see them at some point since Colorado is overrun with them. Buff orplingtons are really docile and sweet natured and these guys will likely be half pet and half breakfast producer. I was thinking a small slanted roof kind of coop with an outside accessible nest box and sliding shutters to go over the windows in in bad weather. We get a huge range in weather from 60 degree days like today to -30. The pen is situated under a huge ash tree and faces east so it gets morning sun only in the summer and is shaded the rest of the day. It gets a fair amount of all day sun during the winter. I was planning on tarping the west and north sides of the kennel during winter to block the prevailing winds while leaving the east and south sides open for sunlight. Does this sound like a good plan? Can you offer any advice or suggest changes ? I have wanted chickens for 20 years and want to do this right so I am happy and grateful to get any advice I can get. thanks

Hi I am wondering if anyone has chickens? If so what breeds and can you share some ideas about your coop design?

I applied for my concealed carry in Colorado in November. I was told at that time there was a 3 to 4 month backlog on the CBI background check . Colorado Bureau of Investigation is flat out swamped with the recent applications and cant keep up. Im hoping to get mine by February or March.

Based on my own personal experience I would advise you to NOT confront this person in anyway.Stay away from her... do not engage her in anyway whether in private or in public. The people who should be confronting her,are law enforcement and the bishop. A direct confrontation will only hurt you in the end. It will allow doubt to enter the minds of people who will ask "If she scared you so badly then why did you confront her"... Stupid thinking I know but it doesnt benefit you in the end to confront her.

I was stalked years ago. I moved 3 times before I lost my stalker. The story you tell of this girl raises the hair on the back of my neck. I believe you need to get your husband and yourself to the police and file a report.Log all incidents and report anything that comes up to the officer assigned to your case. Take the case number the police give you and a copy of your report and leave one with your bishop and stake president. Make sure if your son is in school that the school has a copy and that they understand that your son is at risk from this person. They will help you maintain his safety You absolutely cannot be worried that you are overreacting to the potential threat. The security of your home needs to be examined and upgraded if possible. Make sure you have a secue safe room you and your son and husband can get to if she comes at you in your own home, the suggestion to get a gun is smart and sound advice. Take the classes... both of you, and understand how to protect each other safely. Ask your neighbors , friends and family to help you keep watch. Inform whoever employs you and/ or your husbandof what is happening and ask that no information be given out and to be notified about any info requests. Flag your credit reports as well.I may sound dramatic and paranoid but believe me when I tell you that I lived this and the suggestions I have made are a bare minimum to keep your family safe. May God keep you and yours in the palms of His hands.

Cant cash a check here at a bank without giving a fingerprint and cant get a drivers license without one either.. the police wont pursue a bad check unless the merchant puts the clients fingerprint on the check they write either. Fingerprints are a way of life here. Completely sucks. I own a small business and when I got the notice from the police department that merchants in my city were supposed to get fingerprints on all checks I posted a notice telling my clients we would NOT comply . I just feel that its not my job to fingerprint innocent people...that should be for law enforcement and criminals. My clients all thanked me for it and I honestly have had only one check in 20 years that I couldnt collect on. We live in scary times and unfortunately ..at least for me , the ones who scare me most are the ones in charge.

I was at bass pro this weekend looking for another handgun. The people were lined up 3 and 4 deep at the gun counter. The clerk told me thay had sold more than 500 weapons this past weekend alone. The display cases were empty. People were also hauling cases of ammo out by the cartload. I did buy another handgun but am going to have to wait a week ofr it to arrive. I then went to my sheriffs departmart today to get my carry permit and there were people lined up there too.. the clerk at the sheriffs office told me that they have been swamped with carry applications for a couple of weeks. Seems like people are trying to grandfather in their guns rights before Obama takes office. Colorado had the highest recorded number of gun sales this past weekend ever. Interesting stuff.

Loudmouth I agree with you 200 % about the class being serious about the subject and I did learn an enormous amount. I found the class fun as well though because there was a fair amount of humor from the instructors and during breaks it was good to be able to speak openly about guns with other like minded people and not worry that I was offending someone because I am pro-gun or have others lok at me like Im a nut because I own and enjoy firing my ruger. I believe the second class I am taking in January will be more along the lines of what your wife took . Its a personal protection in the home class. I have to say I have enjoyed this thread a great deal. Kudos to all for making it a an interesting thread and for keeping it civil. This is a really fantastic group of people!
