  1. Cold FX.......That is its claim anyways.....I have never tried it but some people swear by it!
  2. Perhaps I am naive or just not aware but where I live anyways this is a non-issue....The different religions are fairly respectful towards each other....(Or at least I have never seen anthing to the contrary)
  3. I hope my daughter choses someone with which she shares the sames goals, aspirations an objectives..... Do I think that would be easiest to find in the same church/religion that she grows up in....yes.... Life in marriage IMHO is easier when the person you are sharing it with is on the same wave length...Am i naive enough to think that both individuals MUST be from the same faith to share this...No, but it certainly does help.... In short my ultimate goal is that my daughter finds a man that loves and respects her regardless of religion, race or culture....
  4. Fair enough......Explaining the use of it is fine....specifically stating who you are placing IMHO is a tad bit offside....
  5. The power of the ignore option is indeed a good one...however I do not understand the need for someone to announce it to the site....
  6. Ya...pretty cold for a bit there........But beautiful the last few days.... So were you in the Sturgeon Hospital? Thats where we had our litle one....Good hospital..... There will be two tier health care in AB soon.....Ralph is labelling things as "Non_Essential" to get around the health care laws..... Where do you live now?
  7. We pay for health care through other means as well......Income tax/Property Tax/GST/Being alive tax.........Health care in Canada isnt the best, but at least if I need it it is there....I dont have to be dieing to finally break down and go see the doctor.... Right now there is a big debate over private vs public health care with our Premier being the one leading the charge.....Lots of people scared that it'll turn into a two tier system......
  8. BIZ: When I was a kid, and we went out as a family to eat dinner in a restaurant or at the home of non-member friends, we would gather in the kitchen in a circle and Dad would say a blessing before we left our home. My Father felt very strongly Jesus' rebuke to the Pharisee's about praying in public, where in they are enjoined to to "pray at home in their closet". What is wrong with keeping your religious beliefs PRIVATE, esp.. when your own saviour told you to do so? Also, why did you feel the need to look around to gauge others' reactions? ← Biz.... Nothing wrong with how your father did it, in fact I like the idea and will implement it in my family......My 18 month old daughter was the one that instigated the situation and I followed her lead....did I stand on top of the table and pray...no.....I did it quietly and discretely enough to have my daughter and wife hear.... As for looking around after.....If you knew me you would know that I am not one to look for public attention....it is a restaurant.........what am I supposed to do? Keep my head burried until I leave...... I will continue to teach my daughter that which I feel is right, and if the situation were to arise again I would do the same thing.....Just the way I am.....Did Jesus not heal the sick because it may have offended someone who was a non-believer who was nearby?
  9. My 18 month old daughter will often look into empty space and start waving.... My wife shared a story with me when I got home from work yesterday.... My daughter and wife were eating lunch, my daughter was eating and suddenly stopped and looked up. She looked past my wife (she said that she looked like she was focusing on a point just past our island in our kitchen), and she started to wave, smile and giggle.... Now I am not sure if she has an imaginary friend or if it was perhaps one of her "Guardian Angels", but it brought the question to my mind as to how thin the veil is for small children, and if it is gradually closed or if we choose to close it... Just one of those things that make you say
  10. Awesome.... but like a bunch of other things... if it became too common a site... there would be a public outcry against it... SO EVERYONE... START PRAYING IN PUBLIC PLACES.... RIGHTEOUSLY OF COURSE... NOT AS THE HEATHENS DO... FOR THE VIEW OF MEN... BUT SO THAT GOD MAY SEE YOUR DEVOTION TO HIM.... ← Well, I cant take too much credit.....quite honestly if she hadnt been there I probably would have just wolfed down my burger..... The examples that kids set are amazing....Taught me a valuable lesson anyways....
  11. My wife, daughter and I were at a resteraunt last week....We received our food and my daughter (18 months) proceeded to fold her arms....(what an example)....So I said a prayer on our food.... When I finished my short, quiet prayer I looked around and we had several people staring some with a smile and some with a look of wonderment and shock....
  12. Wow.... From Tithing all the way to Coffee.....Where to next?
  13. Heard this morning some Agricultural group wants a Grocery tax to help support small farmers........Ugh!!!!!
  14. How come I have an image of a car spinning its wheels going nowhere in my head........
  15. Taxes.... try living in Canada.......
  16. Hmmmm.... Not sure if the measurable or tangeable benefits of paying your tithing are really whats important...Hearing stories such as being provided for after paying your tithing are great and faith-promoting, however is not the obedience to the law the important part.... If for some reason you pay your tithing and dont see any tangible benefits (Money in my hand) am I gonna stop paying it...No....I pay it because I believe it to be a true principle...not because of what I feel the Lord will bless me with.....
  17. Mmmmmm.....Turkey!!! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks...
  18. The Hip.....I like you already!!!
  19. My wife is hooked as well......She has read them all.....Me.....Not so much
  20. It is a fine line...... When do you draw the line between preparing and worldliness......I would guess noone really knows...it is all a matter of opinion.... For the record I will be teaching my daughter not to rush things....
  21. Sounds like my wife and I. We waited just under 5 years and were both done or schooling and paid off our student loans...I am glad that we waited as we had a chance to for a strong relationship. (Not that others who have children sooner don't) We felt as though it was important to us to do this and it has been a strength for us in our marriage.
